I bought something, BUT...

Sweater: Old Navy (early 2011)
White Tee: Tahari via Marshalls
Jeans: AE
Boots and Belt: Target
 Bag: H&M
Necklace: Target

Hello lovelies! Hope all of you had a great weekend!

Before I began my October shopping ban I decided to have couple of exceptions. Boots were on that list... since I have a hard time finding boots that aren't too wide around my calves. I saw these at Target (don't ask me why I was in the Shoe Dept, as I was avoiding the clothing dept, didn't want to tempt myself. I guess the boots were meant to be mine ;)
For $45 and the perfect fit they came home with me and I was quite happy that I didn't break my ban but rather made that exception before I began it.

Last day of this lovely shopping ban, I'm ready for it to be over and please remind me to never put myself on a shopping ban during Fall, my favorite season!

...I'll make truffles instead...

Blazer: Marshalls
Skinnies: JCPenny
Gray Sweater: Old
Flats and Belt: J.Crew
Scarf: H&M

Yesterday was a rainy, gray day and therefore I had no desire to take pictures outside.  Instead I took the infamous work-bathroom-mirror pictures.  Better than nothing, right? Right.

This whole shopping ban is slowly killing me. I'm almost done but I can hardly stand it anymore. I've lasted 27 days..... and I WILL last four more days...TUESDAY needs to hurry up!  I might not ever buy anything come Tuesday but just knowing that I CAN makes me feel better (I think I might have a problem).

Saturday I'm going to occupy myself by making Amaretto Truffles...and maybe I'll try Coconut Rum Truffles too. I'll go easy on the Rum (even though I've all the reasons in the world not to...maybe the Rum will make be forget about Saturday-Retail-Stores-hopping).
I'll let you know how that goes.

Fall = Blazers

Blazer: H&M
Denim shirt: Target
Skinny Pants: LOFT
Shoes: Zara
Scarf: Old
Necklac: F21

Truth: I wear these pants a lot!  These are my can't-go-wrong-pants, which makes them awesome. And the fact that they were under $10 makes the uber-awesome. My husband was the one that saw them on the 'final sale' rack when he was with me at the Loft (I think it was earlier this year).
Deals like these are the reason why I have a hard time paying full price at most stores (F21 and such stores don't count).  And additional % off sale items: We got a winner!

Elle and Essie

 Essie - Midnight Cami

It sucks having a cold. Didn't have the energy to take outfit pictures after work yesterday. So what do you do when you have a cold?  Paint your nails (between nose blowing) and flip through pages of November Elle...with the ever gorgeous Jennifer Aniston on the cover.

who doesn't love boots!?

Faux Leather Jacket: Target (super old)
Sweater: NY&Co
Jeans: Aeropostale
Boots: Sam Edelman
Scarf: H&M

Are you guys already tired of seeing these boots? Good, because you'll be seeing them a lot more this Fall/Winter.  For those who have been following by blog for a while you know how much I wore them last Fall/Winter/early Spring...a ton...like here, here, here, here, here and here  this post has actually three different pairs of boots in it, proof I wear other boots too lol), oh and here..and a many more times lol...I'm sure you get the idea.

I love boots, what can I say.  I would really LOVE, love to get these Hunter Boa Snake boots but I can't bring myself to spend $150 on rubber (I won't say it will never happen...you know...never-say-never). Plus the only place I can find them is eBay...for $180, definitely a no-no. But I sure love 'em.

You Sunshines have a wonderful weekend!

mixing prints...except you can't really tell I did

Jacket & Button up: Old Navy
Sweater: H&M
Skinny Pants: Target
Boots: Sam Edelman

My aqua checkered button up from Old Navy is glowing. Either I need a new camera or we need weather change. Most likely I need both. Ok, it's more like a want than a need.
The point is...you can't really tell the shirt is checkered. I tried (and once I sat down there was no getting up to take a close up picture, I'm sure you understand).

Some oldies

 Cardi: Target
Shirt: Marshalls
Skirt: JCPenny
Shoes: Steve Madden

SO happy that I found this skirt at JCPenny on sale for $35 (glad I didn't buy J.Crew's one in purple, that would've made a little sad)

.

 Blazer: H&M
Shirt & Necklace: F21
Jeans: Old Navy
Boots: Sam Edelman (gift from Mr.)
Bag: Gift from Mr.
Belt: Gap

Hubby really liked this blazer and made me try it on a few times (as I wasn't too crazy about it). And he ended up buying it for me (I ended up liking it ;) . With these boots and the blazer it looks like I'm just missing a horse....

It's getting tough

Trench: Banana Republic
Shirt: Old
Pants: Kohls (old)
Shoes: AE via Payless
Bag: Gift

Since this shopping ban I've been trying to shop own closet and wear items that haven't seen daylight in a looong time.
Today I had the urge to go shopping... mainly because of the things I see on different blogs. That definitely does not help with a shopping ban. I have a couple of store credits and for a minute I thought that wouldn't count as shopping (technically it wouldn't because the reason I'm on a shopping ban is to spend less $$ on clothes and shoes).  But I was good and decided to wait until next month to use the store credits I have. Good girl, no?!

How is everyone else doing with their shopping  ban (those that joined me)?
Do tell!

Shirt: H&M
Pants and belt: Gap
Shoes: Bitten by SJP
Bag: Gift from Mr.

I've missed y'all.  Thanks for showing some love to my guest bloggers while I was gone. And a huge welcome to my new followers, so happy to see you all here :)

We had an amazing time on our vacation, each island was absolutely beautiful even more the second time around. We did some fun, exciting things but mostly enjoyed the white beaches and the warm waters. Believe it or not but I did NO shopping. No shopping. I had no desire to be honest. Day 17 of my shopping ban and I'm doing great :)

One of these days I'll post some pictures from our vacation and tell you a bit about each island.

Thank you for reading

xoxo,
Lilly

Guest Post: Audrey from Putting Me Together

I'm SO excited to be here on Lilly's blog!  I'm definitely a fan of her style.  But really, how could I not be, considering we seem to have matching closets filled with the same pieces!  What can I say?  Great minds shop at Target, Old Navy, and Kohl's.

In light of fall, I thought I'd share a recent post from my blog about a fall staple--the plaid/gingham shirt.

My younger brother is absolutely obsessed with plaid shirts, and nowadays I can't seem to get enough of them either.  Will you judge me for having two of the same shirt from Old Navy?  Does it help if they were on crazy sale?

I simply couldn't resist getting multiples because I knew how versatile this shirt could be.  So, here we go, 10 ways to wear a gingham shirt!

I tried to pull out the basic, general principles for you to easily use as a foundation.  From there you can add your own style and flare by using pieces you already own and by creating your own color combinations.

I also made it all one image so that you can pin it for future reference.  So, ladies, let's see you rock some gingham this fall!

Guest post: Leah from Little Red Purse

Hi! I'm Leah from Little Red Purse and I am pleased to guest post for Lilly. Hope you enjoy a little fall outfit inspiration.
Do you have summer pieces you aren't ready to give up yet?  Here's how to take those much loved pieces into Fall. Since the weather is quite unpredictable and can go from hot to cold so quickly, having the option of stripping down or bulking up with layers is key.
Take your favourite summer tank + a blazer + a pair of cropped jeans
Pull out your fall Booties or your favourite pair of flats
Throw on a colourful scarf or any other fun summer accessories
And Voila!

Guest Post: Haley from Cardigan Junkie

Hello!  I'm Haley from Cardigan Junkie and I'm really excited to be filling in for Lilly today while she's enjoying her vacation.  If you don't know me, you'll soon find out that one of my favorite things to do is play around with clothes and wear things as many ways as I can.

I am currently coveting the No. 2 pencil skirt from J.Crew in viridian green (also known as teal), but before I drop $120 on a skirt, I wanted to see how many ways I could (virtually) style it and then share the results with the rest of you!  I love how pencil skirts make everyone look simultaneously polished and sexy, and this piece is no exception.

pencil skirt, four ways

Is anyone else a pencil skirt addict like me?  I'm new to the club, and now I can't get enough of them!

If you'd like a set like this, stop by Cardigan Junkie and send me a note.  I love helping people style their clothes and meeting new blog friends!  Thanks again to Lilly for hosting me today!
