I'm happy because....

Gingham Shirt: Old Navy
Cardi: Gap Outlet
Pants: J. Crew Factory
Shoes: AE via Payless
Necklace: Gap Outlet
Bracelets: H&M

I'm happy to see the Sun shining. I'm happy to be one day closer to the weekend. I'm happy to have finally set up an appointment to get my highlights. I'm happy to take a trip to St. Louis, MO next week with my sister to see our Mom.

I'm NOT happy about the fact that I'm going to be 4 nights away from my Mr. next week while in St. Louis! I need to start thinking how I'm going to make it that long without him (go ahead, call me a big baby).

Have you been away from your better half for a short or long period of time?  How do you survive? (ok, I've moved on from being a big baby to being slightly dramatic)  Don't judge ;-)

xoxo

p.s. now it's your turn to tell me what you are happy about
(I need to make this a regular thing)

Comfy is my style!

Jacket: Aeropostale, Shirt: The Limited (old), Cargo pants: Candie's Kohls, Shoes: Simply Vera Wang Kohls, Belt: The Limited, Scarf: H&M, Bracelets: H&M and Gap

Feeling comfortable in what you wearing is very important. Otherwise is just pure awkward...(speaking from experience here). As much as one might like something if it isn't you...move on.

Each time I post pictures I realize that I haven't been using my tripod. I find it a little hard having to set up the 10 seconds timer, run and pose for pictures (sometimes my Mr. takes the pictures but for some reason I don't like waiting until 5:30pm to take them).  Having a remote would help a ton but I'm not sure if they make one for my little camera. Until I figure out something else you'll be seeing more work-bathroom-mirror pictures :)

How do you take your outfit pictures?

Ombre hair?

Yep, these are totally real ;-)
Skinny Pant: Loft
Blazer: LC's Collection
Top: J. Crew
Shoes: Younkers
Ring & Necklace: F21
Watch: MK

Definitely happy to see some flowers blooming you guys! You know these are totally real, right!? Riiiiiight!

Anyway, since warmer weather might be coming within next the month I decided to get some highlights...soon. It might happen this week or next week...or the week after. Shall see.... All I know the last time I wanted to go lighter it didn't turn out quite as expected. But it didn't look terrible so I let it be.
You can't see my roots too well in these pictures....I'll just pretend it's Ombre...sometimes it's ok to pretend, it really is..

Do you Smashion?

Good Morning Fashionistas!

A while back I was contacted by Smashion.com asking me if I would like to do an interview with them? Me, are you sure you want to interview me?!   So of course I said YES!

If you have not heard about Smashion.com you need to check them out, seriously! One of the best features on their site, IMO,  is their Market. You can buy/sell lightly-worn or new apparel and accessories on a NO-FEE marketplace. How awesome is that, no fees!

You can check out my interview here.

p.s. I didn't realize that my picture would turn out sooo blury... :(  Oh well!

Where the spring at?

Outfit details: Sweater-BCBGeneration, Gingham Shirt - Old Navy, Cord Pants - The Loft, Boots - Sam Edelman, Necklace - Charlotte Russe, Ring - F21

Originally I wasn't planning on wearing this or the boots but when I saw the ground covered in white...I first thought what the heck and then realized that winter isn't really over just yet. Yay for living in Michigan!
(once the summer comes I most likely will be complaining how hot it is hehe).

I realized that I'm having one of those "HUH" days...ya know...one of those...

But a nice thing happened this morning....a nice young business man (anyone who wears a suit I figure must be a business man haha) let me in ahead of him at the coffee shop this morning. And then before he left he told me "cool boots today". Why, thank you stranger. It's nice to run into a man with a sense of style and who actually isn't afraid to compliment someone.

I'm meeting a friend of mine for lunch...so off I go!

You have yourself a fantastic Thursdays!

Hey lovies! I've been MIA... In addition to the busy life I felt pretty unmotivated and uninspired. And almost a week later I still don't have much to say. Except I would love to leave work right now, go home, cozy up in my warm bed and take a nice long nap. wake up once is warm outside. and the sun is shining.

On a happier note...my wonderful hubs sent me flowers on Friday...a bouquet of daisies. LOVE daisies. My favs! Yesterday he got me a certificate for a hot stone massage. Can't wait to have the massage. Wonderful he is I tell ya!

Spring fever

Jacket: Old Navy
Chambray Shirt: Target
Skirt: F21 ($5.50)
Shoes: Target
Belt: F21
Ring: F21

Not to talk about weather again but I do have to mention that I'm beyond happy...it's supposed to be 65 degrees today! Awesome I tell ya (even though it's supposed to rain later today).

Warmer weather means bare legs, finally. I've been wanting to wear this skirt I bought few months ago (yes, full price was $5.50) with flats and bare legs. I bought it in Large as I didn't want it to be extremely tight.

What are you looking forward to the most this spring?

Now put a smile on your pretty face and enjoy this beautiful day!

Not one but two outfits for ya

 Trousers: The Loft ($9)
Shirt: H&M
Shoes: Steve Madden
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Ring: H&M

I was waiting for a little warmer weather to wear these trousers. When I bought them I couldn't wait to wear them and had an amazing outfit in mind. Time came to wear them, today it's in 50's, and for the life of me I could NOT remember what top I wanted to wear with these pants...all I know it was NOT this one or the other three tops I tried on this morning. And I most definitely didn't plan on looking all matchy-matchy!   Perhaps I should start writing stuff down or taking pictures of the items together?!

Anyway.....below is Monday's outfit and I forgot to snap outfit pictures from yesterday...I even loved my outfit yesterday....

So I decided to be rebellious on Monday and wear jeans! They're dark wash so that's my excuse...oh, and the whole time change messed up everything so I just threw on clothes rather than walking out in my robe.  This seriously looks more like a casual Friday outfit.... but the beauty is that my boss before I even started working here told me that we don't have to dress fancy... To me that meant I can wear jeans and a shirt with a bike and hearts on it...on a Monday!

Shirt: Target (love this shirt)
Cardi: Banana Republic
Jeans: AE
Shoes: Simply Vera Wang
Scarf: H&M
Necklace: ? Old
Necklace work are bracelets - old

Oh, and my hair finally got a much needed trim a whole inch and half...and my bangs are short. I liked them for 17 min and then disliked them after that...and nothing has changed since (they are side-sweped though). And my layers are mostly gone...didn't realize I would miss them so much. They'll be coming back..the layers...

Hope you are having a fabulous, sunny Wednesday!

My girly room...one day

(All photos found via google images)

While joking telling my husband how we should turn our spare room/office/guestroom into my girly room and expecting to hear a "I don't think that's a good idea" or anything along those lines really, he said "Sure, why not".  I proceeded to explain to him what the room would look like and what it would be mostly used for. You know...just to make sure he actually understoon clearly what "my girly room" means. And he still agreed! Not sure why I was expecting a different answer or anything less from him....after all he is AWESOME like that!

Now that we agreed on turning our spare room/office/guestroom  (and I should probably add in there junk room) into my girly room I don't know where to begin. So, this is where Google comes in handy. These are just a few images I found that are inspirational. Of course my new room won't look like any of these perfectly decorated rooms but they can at least give me some ideas, as each photo has something in it that is special.

Right now the room has a futon in it that we purchased from Target, in color brown. It looks cute.

*this is important information*
If you are expecting company and don't want them to overstay their visit but don't know how to politely tell them this I suggest you buy this futton. I guarantee you they won't be staying more than a night. They even might leave in the middle of the night.
Yes, it IS the most unfomfortable thing to sleep on you guys.

The main reason we wanted a futon (couldn't find a nice pull-out couch) is for when my Mom comes to visits. She hasn't slept on it yet and if she did....she would most likely think we're punishing her for something...and would probably never come to visit again.

Do you have a 'girly room'? Where do you find your inspiration from?

Recipe: Stuffed Zucchini with walnuts and feta

A while back I mentioned that I made stuffed zucchini for dinner and few people have asked for the recipe. I've been meaning to post/share this recipe for a while now but never got round actually posting it...until now :)  I'm not a big zucchini fan but this just sounded so good that I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did because I LOVE it!

So here it goes:

Ingredients:

  • 4 fat, medium zucchini
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped finely
  • 2 oz/55grams / 1/3 cup fete cheese, crumbled
  • 1 oz/25 grams /1/4 cup walnut pieces, chopped
  • 2 oz/55grams white bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbs chopped fresh dill  (dill is optional, I  don't really use it as I don't like it much)
  • salt and paper
Method:
  1. Put the zucchini in a pan of boiling water, return to a boil, and then boil for 3-4min. Drain, rinse under cold water, and drain again.  Let cool.
  2. When zucchini are cool enough to handle, cut a thin strip off the top side of each one with a sharp knife. Using a teaspoon, carefully scoop out the flesh, leaving a shell to hold the stuffing. Chop the zucchini flesh.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a pan. Add the onion and garlic and fry for 5min. until softened. Add the zucchini flesh and fry for 5 minutes, until the onion is golden brown. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly. Stir in the cheese then the walnuts, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper (and dill if you like it) :)
  4. Use the stuffing to fill the zucchini shells, and place side by side in an ovenproof dish. Drizzle over the remaining oil.
  5. Over the dish with the foil and bake in a preheated oven, 375F/190C, for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot!
Enjoy!

Let me know if you end up giving this a try and how you like it.

Zara love

Loving these styles right now

Loving me some Zara.  I won't complain, again, that we don't have one around here (closest one is in Chicago 4h away).  But one can dream, right?!

On the bright side, I found these at The Loft....
Marisa Randi Plaid Lean Trousers $79   $9 (final sale)

You can only imagine how excited I was to pay $9 for these trousers.

A big Thank You....

Button-up shirt: Target
Skinny Pants: The Loft
Boots: Sam Edelman
Necklace: Gap Outlet
Belt: Thrifted
Bracelets: H&M
Ring: The Limited

I was pretty excited to find this shirt at Target (it's by Converse One Star).   It is very very similar to one I saw at J. Crew (I think it's called Indian voile boy shirt in Indigo).

I wanted to thank all of you who commented on my workout post. Many of you had great ideas and motivational things to say, so THANK YOU ladies!
