OOTD and a true story

 Jacket+Capris: Aeropostale (old)
Shirt: Marshalls
Wedges: Target (old)
Necklace: F21

Since the weather has been nice this week I've been spending my lunch hour at a Lake which happens to be across the street from where I work. I drive to the Boat Launch as there are hardly any people there....so it's more peaceful. Me+bench+lake+a book = perfect lunch hour. So perfect it makes it hard to go back to work.

Anyway, I got to tell you what I saw yesterday.  I had to make a quick stop at Walmart on my lunch hour. On my way to check out I passed a mother with three small children...small girl she was carrying (prob 2yrs old) and two boys...maybe 5 and 7 yrs old. The middle child was screaming at this mother and then he spit at her. I could believe what I saw. Who spits at their mother!?  After checking out I headed over to Subway (inside walmart) and behind me in line came the same mother with her three children. The two boys were loud, screaming, moving chairs around...just being very very bad. The oldest boy says "why is everyone looking at me". Seriously kid? Seriously? I had such a hard time keeping my mouth shut as I waited in line for at least 4 or 5 min. I was staring at the kid as he tells me "stop looking at me" which really made me stare even  more. I stared at him with a look of disapproval (doubt he knows what it means). I was staring until he looked away.

I thought I was going to see cameras...maybe they were filming for the Nanny show.  But to my disappointment I didn't see any.  I actually can't even describe how bad those kids were. I've only seen kids act like that on TV..usually on the Nanny show...and that mother/kids would be the perfect candidates for it.

Why are some parents afraid to discipline their children these days?

I could go on and on...but it's 9min pass my bed time :)

Nite nite everyone!

  1. Yay for awesome weather! Love that F21 necklace and those capris fit you perfectly.

    And....this is why I don't go to Walmart. I have a rotten, horrendous, maddening experience every. single. time.

    Last 4th of July weekend, I got so mad that I swore to never step foot in that stupid store again, lol.

  2. LOL'ing at you staring that naughty boy down!

    I think there are a lot of parental pushovers these days...Respect for elders is a big part of my culture and I totally enforce it, I love my kids to bits and they get SO much affection - but disrespect is not tolerated...I hope enforcing it at a young age will make a difference when they're older (but you can never tell until you are at that stage yourself, KWIM?)

  3. Oooo, I can't believe that boy spit at his mother! If I had done that as a child, my mother would have...well, let's just say I wouldn't have gotten away pain-free. It makes me sad that mothers are scared to discipline. Children need it!

    Anyway, I love that you have a lake across from your work. I'm so envious! Cute jean jacket =)

  4. I love your outfit! So perfect :)

    I recently encountered a mom and child situation like this, at a Subway no less, I dont understand it either... I was raised by my grandmother and if I were bad in public, she just had to give me a look and I would start acting right!

    Times have changed! Thats for sure!

  5. First, your outfit is fab.

    Second, OMG Seriously?!?! Discipline was a big thing in our household growing up. If I ever spit on my mother, I wouldn't be on this earth today. What is the world coming to!?!

  9. @Andi - that's one place to see and hear some crazy things that's for sure.

    @Ella - totally agree. Kids need to be taught respect for elders from a very young age.

    @Beautygirl24 - That's what I can't seem to understand, why are some mothers afraid to discipline their children!?

    @Teresa - I agree, time have changed..big time :)

    @Love at first shoe - haha..I know..I would be missing a tooth or two if I was hitting and spitting my mother.

    @Ashley - I think it's really how parents raise their children from a very young age. I don't believe that a child is just born bad.

    @Lisa - thanks :) haha, I know. Definitely can't touch your own child in public. That's why so many kids disrespect their parents so much.

    @Petite Voyageur - thank you :)

    Love your shoes!!

    I find it hard to be strict as a mom...but these days parents are forgetting to teach manners.
